Tector® Silicate Primer
is a breathable and durable potassium silicate (Waterglass) based fixative primer as part of the Tector® Silicate Paint
system for the protection and decoration of new & old mineral based substrates inc: lime plaster/render and porous historic masonry.
Tector® Silicate Paint
system comprises of two parts:
1. Tector® Silicate Primer
2. Tector® Silicate Paint
New renders should be fully cured (4 weeks) before applying the system.
Old mineral substrates must be in good condition, dry and clean and free from any material that may hinder adhesion (grease, dust, dirt, algae etc).
Old painted surfaces must be completely removed before appplication of Tector® Silicate Primer
and Tector® Silicate Paint.
Fill any surface cracks Tector® Finish Render
and allow to fully cure before application of the primer and paint system.
NB. Tector® Silicate Paint (white) requires bare mineral substrates to be primed with Tector® Silicate Primer prior to painting.

Tector® Silicate Primer
can also be used as a clear consolidation primer to prevent dusting for porous mineral substrates including Brick, stone, masonry, mortar, plaster and render when the natural look of the substrate want to be left and not decorated.
Application:
(Tector® Silicate Primer):
Stir product until fully homogenised.
Do not apply below 5C or above 80% relative humidity.
Avoid application in direct sunlight.
Do not apply in rainy weather.
Apply liberally to absorbent surfaces.
Store in tightly sealed container and protect from frost and direct sunlight.
Recommended shelf life: no more than 1 year.
Allow Tector® Silicate Primer
to fully dry (24 Hours) before application of Tector® Silicate Paint.
(Tector® Silicate Paint):
Stir product until fully homogenised.
Do not apply below 5C or when a frost is expected.
Do not apply in direct sunlight or onto hot walls.
Do not apply in strong wind.
Do not apply in rainy weather.
Do not apply to damp walls - remove moisture beforehand.
Apply evenly (do not apply thick layers).
Apply wet-on-wet in a single coat to avoid tonal variation.
Store in tightly sealed container and protect from frost and direct sunlight.
Recommended shelf life: no more than 1 year.

Every effort is made to produce a consistent product as part of our own factory controlled procedures and quality control. It is strongly recommended to test a small amount of material, in situ, to assess suitability and performance and purchase adequate amounts of product from the same batch to fulfil any job.
